Original Art & Illustrations by Patricia Mellett Brown.
My work has always involved some form
of creativity, whether as a woodworker, picture framer or having art, craft and
design shops, of which I have had several. Moving to the Lincolnshire countryside has
given me an opportunity to focus on my artwork. I work mainly with water colour, pencil and
ink, although I am also exploring oil and other mediums.
I love
faces and portraiture. People’s faces are like maps to me and it’s a thrill to
find my way around them and to paint a portrait that reveals something of the
person’s character. Being creative, completing commissions and making people smile when they like my work still astonishes me.
Talking of characters, my latest creation is Louis, just an ordinary dog but with a tale or two to tell. Follow him on his adventures, which are loosely based on my personal experience of conquering Agoraphobia through sobriety.
All greetings cards and prints that I design are produced by myself, from my original artwork.
